Brenner north-approach: OBERMEYER plans section Grafing-Ostermünchen

OBERMEYER Infrastruktur GmbH & Co. KG has been awarded the contract by DB Netz AG for the preparation of the basic evaluation and preliminary planning for the new line between Grafing and Ostermünchen. It will work on this contract in a consortium with ILF Consulting Engineers Austria GmbH and Schüßler-Plan Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH. The planning services will be fully handled using the BIM method (Building Information Modelling method) and also include the option for the further planning phases (design, approval and tender planning).

The Grafing-Ostermünchen planning section, which is approx. 15 kilometres long, is part of the northern access route to the Brenner Base Tunnel. It is part of the Scandinavian-Mediterranean Corridor (Scan-Med Corridor), the most important north-south railway connection in Europe from Finland to Malta. In addition to the open sections, the associated traffic facilities, bridges and tunnel structures are also being planned.

Within the planning section PA 1 Grafing-Ostermünchen, OBERMEYER is responsible for the planning of the constructive engineering structures and tunnels. Components of the planning include the approx. 1,000 metre long Filzen Bridge and the approx. 1,570 metre long Salach Tunnel.

OBERMEYER as well as ILF and Schüßler have already been involved in projects around the Brenner axis, such as in the Lower Inn Valley, the Brenner Base Tunnel and the Brenner North Approach, planning section PA 3 Innleiten-Kirnstein. With the new assignment, OBERMEYER has the opportunity to make another important contribution to improving the cross-border rail infrastructure between Grafing and Ostermünchen.
